A medical practice that has been on the same site for 40 years will move to a new, £7m site next nonth.
From 8am on November 8, Timperley’s Park Medical Practice and more than 6,300 patients will relocate to a new purpose-built site on Stockport Road.
Patients will benefit from a new on-site pharmacy and enhanced disability access.
The building is already home to Timperley Library.
Dr Christina Wilson, GP partner at Park Medical Practice, said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming patients to our new home. With double the space and state-of-the-art facilities we will be able to continue to provide first-class care for our patients in a modern venue and also look to the future.”
Park Medical Practice at Park Road, Timperley will close to patients at 1pm on Friday November 5 ahead of the opening at the Stockport Road location on Monday November 8 at 8am.
Patients requiring medical advice when the practices are closed should ring 111 to speak to NHS111, or they can call the practice on 0161 973 3845 where they will be triaged by a clinician.
The practice’s 424 square metre ground floor location is part of Trafford Housing Trust’s £7m mixed-use development.
Martin Dawson, project manager at developers Assura who have helped build the site, said: “We are delighted to see that the practice is ready to welcome patients to their new medical centre. The facility will be a major asset for the provision of primary care in the area for years to come and we are really proud to have been involved with this brilliant project.”
A letter confirming details of relocation and FAQs was sent to patients this week.
