DESTINATION GDANSK: United prepare for Europa League final

DESTINATION GDANSK: United prepare for Europa League final

Manchester United are training ahead of their Europa League final against Villarreal in the Polish city of Gdansk.

United arrived in Poland on Monday afternoon, 24 hours after fielding an inexperienced squad in their final Premier League game of the season.

A first United goal for Anthony Elanga and a penalty from Juan Mata saw the Reds beat Wolves at Molineux and end the season unbeaten away from Old Trafford.

With questions over Harry Maguire’s fitness, it looks likely that one of Axel Tuanzebe or Eric Bailly will partner Victor Lindelof at centre back on Wednesday.

Solskjaer is yet to reveal who will start in goal, after Dean Henderson played Sunday’s game, with David De Gea between the sticks in the Semi-Final against Roma.

If United win on Wednesday, it will be the second time they have won the competition in four years, having beaten Ajax in the final in Stockholm in 2017.

26-Man Squad

Below is the list of 26 players who have travelled to Gdansk:

Goalkeepers: De Gea, Henderson, Grant, Bishop

Defenders: Bailly, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw, Telles, Tuanzebe, Wan-Bissaka, Williams

Midfielders: Amad, Fernandes, Fred, James, Mata, Matic, McTominay, Pogba, Van de Beek

Attackers: Cavani, Elanga, Greenwood, Rashford, Shoretire.
